The SANDVIK COROMANT 8019632 is a CNMG-style indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathe and turning center applications. Manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, this insert delivers wear resistance, heat management, and extended tool life in demanding cutting conditions. It features an 80-degree diamond shape (insert shape code C), a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0313-inch corner radius. The neutral hand orientation and MR chip breaker geometry make it a versatile choice for general turning operations. Installation is performed by qualified machinists and CNC operators.
This insert is engineered for turning steel as its primary workpiece material, with cast iron as a secondary application. It fits into the T-Max P series toolholder system and is suited for medium to roughing passes where chip control and coating durability are critical. The MR chip breaker is optimized for stable chip formation across a range of depths of cut and feed rates. Typical installations are found in production machining environments, job shops, and maintenance machine shops running ferrous materials.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P series toolholders accepting CNMG 12 04 08 inserts. Primary workpiece material is steel; secondary workpiece material is cast iron. Verify toolholder pocket geometry and clamping system before installation.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's torque and clamping procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Confirm insert orientation and chip breaker direction relative to the programmed feed direction before resuming cutting.
