The SANDVIK COROMANT 7860813 is a CCMT-style solid carbide turning insert designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which delivers wear resistance and thermal protection during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape with a 0.4 mm corner radius, an inscribed circle of 12.70 mm (0.2165 inches), and a PM chip breaker geometry. It seats in CCMT-compatible toolholders using a clamp or screw holding method. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops or production environments install this insert as part of the CoroTurn 107 series.
This insert is rated primarily for steel (ISO material code P) and secondarily for cast iron (ISO material code K). It is well suited for medium finishing and light roughing passes where consistent chip control and dimensional accuracy are required. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with both right-hand and left-hand toolholder setups without modification. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units, making it appropriate for stocking in tool cribs on production floors or in field service kits.
Designed for use in CCMT-style toolholders compatible with the CoroTurn 107 series. ISO code CCMT 12 04 04-PM 4425. Fits holders that accept the CCMT 1204 insert size with clamp or screw retention. Intended for machining steel and cast iron workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw or top clamp to the torque specification listed in the toolholder manufacturer documentation. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and insert stability.
