The SANDVIK COROMANT 7860792 is a CNMG-style indexable turning insert designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the ISO designation CNMG 12 04 12-PF 4425 and belongs to the T-Max P series. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide substrate with a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, targeting wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted steel and cast iron cutting. The 80-degree diamond shape provides a strong nose geometry, and the PF chip breaker is optimized for finishing and light roughing passes.
