The SANDVIK COROMANT 7859067 is a DNMG442-PM 4415 turning insert designed for external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a 55-degree diamond insert shape (Shape Code D) with a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle and a 0.79 mm (0.0313 inch) corner radius. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide substrate and carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN under manufacturer grade 4415. The PM chip breaker geometry is engineered for controlled chip formation during medium to roughing passes. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert as part of the T-Max P series tooling system.
This insert is suited for turning steel and cast iron workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO code P); secondary application is cast iron (ISO code K). The neutral hand orientation allows use on standard right-hand turning setups. The insert is held in the toolholder via clamp and screw method, making it compatible with standard DNMG-style toolholders used in production turning cells. Typical applications include roughing and semi-finish turning of carbon steel shafts, cast iron housings, and similar machined components.
Designed for use in DNMG-style turning toolholders within the T-Max P series system. ISO code DNMG 15 06 08-PM 4415. Compatible with toolholders accepting a 0.5000-inch inscribed circle diamond insert with a 0.2030-inch hole diameter and clamp or screw holding. Verify toolholder seat and clamping style before installation.
CNC machinists and turning specialists install this insert. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid insert movement or seat damage — refer to the toolholder manufacturer specification for fastener torque. Inspect the insert pocket seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert.
