The SANDVIK COROMANT 7859058 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for precision external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Designated DCMX 11 T3 08-WM 4415, it features a 55-degree diamond insert shape with a 0.79 mm (0.0313 inch) corner radius and a 9.53 mm (0.1732 inch) inscribed circle. The multilayer CVD coating stack — TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN — delivers strong wear resistance and thermal stability. Neutral hand orientation and two cutting edges make it a standard workhorse insert for shops running steel and cast iron. The WM chip breaker geometry is tuned for medium machining conditions.
This insert is intended for turning steel and cast iron workpieces in production and job-shop environments. It fits CoroTurn 107 series toolholders that accept DCMX-style inserts with a clamp or screw holding method. The 7-degree relief angle and M tolerance code make it suitable for general-purpose external turning, facing, and profiling passes on CNC turning equipment. Installation is performed by machinists and CNC operators working to standard insert indexing procedures.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series toolholders accepting DCMX-style inserts. ISO code DCMX 11 T3 08-WM 4415. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P); secondary is cast iron (ISO K). Insert holding method is clamp or screw.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle stopped and all power isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct torque wrench and insert seating tool as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to avoid cracking the carbide substrate. Inspect the insert seat and chip pocket for debris before seating a new insert. Verify correct insert orientation and hand before resuming cutting.
