The SANDVIK COROMANT 7858295 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the CoroMill Plura Series 2S440 standard, this single-end, centercutting tool features a 1/2-inch mill diameter, a 1.53 mm (0.0600 inch) corner radius, and four helical flutes with a high-helix geometry. The TiAlN PVD multilayer coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting superalloys and titanium. This end mill is engineered for both roughing and finishing passes, making it a versatile choice for shops running difficult-to-machine aerospace and high-temp alloys.
This tool is rated for primary use in superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S), covering applications such as aerospace structural components, turbine parts, and high-temperature alloy workpieces. The extended-reach configuration and Weldon flat shank make it well suited for deep-pocket milling and side-milling operations where rigidity and vibration control are critical. The 1-7/16 inch reach length and 1-1/8 inch length of cut allow access to features requiring extended tool projection without sacrificing stability. Installation requires a compatible Weldon flat toolholder sized for a 1/2-inch shank diameter.
Designed for use with Weldon flat toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material compatibility is superalloys and titanium (ISO material application code S). Part of the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill Plura Series 2S440.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC milling setup procedures. Confirm the toolholder bore and Weldon flat set-screw engagement before running the spindle. Ensure the machine spindle and axis drives are fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer-recommended depth of cut or feed rates for the target workpiece material, as superalloys and titanium generate high cutting forces and heat.
