The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564617 is a round (RCKT series) solid carbide milling insert designed for face and pocket milling operations in metalworking applications. Manufactured to grade 4340 with a multi-layer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, this insert delivers thermal resistance and wear performance across a broad range of workpiece materials. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches with a thickness of 0.1875 inches, and it provides 8 usable cutting edges per insert. The positive rake geometry and rounded cutting edge style reduce cutting forces and support stable chip formation. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. It carries material grade designations of P40, M40, and K40, covering the ISO P, M, and K material groups. The maximum depth of cut is 0.0732 inches. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard RCKT-style cutter bodies. Compatible cutter series include N331.32, R331.32, and RA200, as specified by the manufacturer. The ANSI and ISO catalog designation is RCKT 13 04 00-PM 4340 with the PM chip breaker geometry.
Compatible with SANDVIK COROMANT cutter series N331.32, R331.32, and RA200. ANSI and ISO designation: RCKT 13 04 00-PM 4340. Insert size code: 130400.
Indexable inserts of this type are seated and secured by a clamping screw into an RCKT-compatible cutter body pocket; power down or de-energize any CNC machine and lock out the spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the screw — do not over-torque or under-torque the insert screw. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw threads for wear or damage before indexing to a fresh cutting edge. Follow the cutter body manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures for tooling changes.
