The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564615 is a round-style solid carbide milling insert designed for indexable face and shoulder milling operations. Carrying the ANSI/ISO designation RCKT 13 04 00-PH 4340, this insert features a CVD-applied tri-layer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN that provides thermal resistance and wear protection across a range of cutting conditions. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, thickness is 0.1875 inches, and the insert delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.0732 inches. With 8 cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it is suited for high-productivity milling programs where insert cost-per-edge matters. Installed via screw-hold clamping, it fits compatible cutter bodies in the N331.32, R331.32, and RA200 series.
This insert is intended for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, and K. The PH chip breaker geometry and positive rake angle make it appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes in ferrous materials. Typical applications include automotive, general engineering, and heavy fabrication environments where consistent edge life and predictable chip control are required. Machinists and CNC programmers working with Sandvik Coromant cutter bodies will find this insert drop-in compatible with the cutter series listed below.
Compatible with Sandvik Coromant cutter series N331.32, R331.32, and RA200. Designed for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron (ISO material groups P40, M40, and K40). Insert size code 130400.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the cutter body pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Secure with the appropriate Torx or hex screw driver as specified by the cutter body manufacturer, and confirm the insert is fully seated before spindle engagement. Always index or replace inserts with the machine powered down and spindle locked.
