The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564474 is a solid carbide ball nose milling insert designed for use in RA216-series milling cutters. It carries a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN under manufacturer grade 4340, providing wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting applications. The insert measures 0.1563 inches thick and 0.6690 inches in length, with a convex radius of 0.3740 inches. It features a positive rake angle, a rounded cutting edge style, and a right-hand orientation. Two cutting edges per insert and an M-style chip breaker make it suited for moderate to aggressive metal removal in production environments. Installed by CNC machinists and tooling specialists.
This insert is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, covering ISO material groups P, M, and K. It fits RA216-series indexable ball nose cutter bodies and is secured with a screw-type holding method. Typical applications include profiling, contouring, and cavity milling in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The insert size code is 19T3, and the ANSI and ISO designation is RA216-19 T3 M-M 4340. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.6690 inches, making it appropriate for moderate stepdown passes on machining centers handling ferrous workpiece materials.
Designed for use with RA216-series indexable ball nose milling cutter bodies. Compatible with workpiece materials in ISO groups P (steel), M (stainless steel), and K (cast iron). Insert size code 19T3 must match the cutter body seat specification before installation.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling specialist. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to secure the screw-type insert clamp to the cutter body manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert seat and clamping screw for debris or wear before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and runout.
