The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564439 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for face and shoulder milling operations in steel and cast iron applications. Manufactured to grade 4330 and coated via CVD process with a TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN multilayer stack, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability under sustained cutting loads. The square insert geometry features a 90-degree included angle, a positive 15-degree rake angle, and a corner radius of 1.50 mm (0.0591 inches) with a PL chip breaker. It is sized to the 12T3 insert size code with an inscribed circle of 13.40 mm (0.5276 inches) and a thickness of 3.97 mm (0.1563 inches). This insert is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians working with indexable milling toolholders.
This insert is engineered for primary workpiece materials in the P (steel) and K (cast iron) material grade classifications, covering ISO grades P30, M30, and K30. It fits the R245 cutter series and is identified by ANSI and ISO code R245-12 T3 M-PL 4330. Typical applications include shoulder milling, face milling, and general-purpose material removal where consistent chip control and edge life are required across medium to heavy cutting conditions. Maximum depth of cut is 6.50 mm (0.2559 inches). Right-hand cutting geometry applies.
Designed for use in the R245 cutter series toolholders. ANSI and ISO designation R245-12 T3 M-PL 4330 confirms fitment. Compatible with toolholders accepting the 12T3 insert size code and a screw-mounted, single-sided square insert configuration.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for debris or wear before installing a new insert to ensure proper contact and edge alignment.
