The SANDVIK COROMANT 7564362 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance metal cutting in demanding machining environments. Carrying manufacturer grade 4330, this insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides wear resistance and thermal protection during interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert measures 3.59 mm thick and 6.80 mm wide, with a 0.80 mm corner radius, and is configured in an R390-11 T3 08M-PL geometry. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in milling applications requiring consistent edge life on ferrous materials.
This insert is suited for face milling and square shoulder milling operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. The positive rake angle of 25 degrees reduces cutting forces, making it appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The PL chip breaker promotes controlled chip evacuation in both dry and wet cutting conditions. It is a single-sided, right-hand insert held in place by screw clamping. The R390 series designation indicates compatibility with toolholders and cutter bodies designed around that system. Applications typically include production machining in job shops, aerospace component work, and general metalworking where P30, M30, and K30 material grades apply.
Compatible with R390 series and M-32 cutter bodies. ANSI and ISO code: R390-11 T3 08M-PL 4330. Insert size code: 11T308. Consult toolholder documentation to confirm pocket and screw compatibility before installation.
This insert is installed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct Torx or hex key for the clamping screw as specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not over-torque or under-torque the screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout control.
