The SANDVIK COROMANT 7549933 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert designed for precision drilling applications in metal cutting operations. Built to the DS20 insert style with an M7 chipbreaker and manufacturer grade 1344, this insert uses a PVD-applied TiAlN coating for heat resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The inscribed circle measures 8.88 mm with a 0.35 mm corner radius and an irregular shape geometry. It is sized to the 0306 insert format and cuts in the right-hand direction. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators working with indexable drilling systems install this insert as a direct replacement in compatible toolholders.
This insert is suited for use in indexable drill bodies requiring the DS20 insert style, including production environments running steel, alloy steel, and similar workpiece materials where PVD TiAlN coatings provide the best wear performance. The M7 chipbreaker geometry is optimized for medium-duty cutting conditions. Applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling on CNC machining centers and turning centers equipped with compatible DS20-style drill bodies. Each package contains one insert, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as a direct OEM-style replacement insert for indexable drill bodies requiring the DS20 insert style in the 0306 insert size. Confirm toolholder seat geometry and insert pocket dimensions before installation.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to achieve proper clamping torque — do not overtighten or undertighten the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
