The SANDVIK COROMANT 7358156 is a replaceable drill tip designed for use with the CoroDrill 870 modular drilling system. It features a 0.9409-inch (24.00 mm) cutting diameter, a 142-degree included point angle, and is manufactured from solid carbide in a fine-grain grade (4334). A PVD-applied TiAlN coating improves wear resistance and heat management during cutting. The PM insert geometry supports consistent chip formation, and the helical flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation. This tip is installed by machinists and tooling technicians performing solid drilling operations on production equipment.
This replaceable tip is suited for solid drilling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S). It fits insert seat size 23 and is held in place via a clamp-style retention method. The CoroDrill 870 platform is commonly used in CNC machining centers and turning centers where modular drill heads allow rapid tip exchange without removing the drill body from the spindle.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroDrill 870 modular drill bodies requiring insert seat size 23. ISO number reference: 870-2390-23-PM 4334.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before replacing the drill tip. Use the appropriate Torx or clamp key specified for the CoroDrill 870 body to seat and secure the insert properly. Do not exceed the tool assembly overhang or cutting parameter ranges published in the tooling body documentation.
