The SANDVIK COROMANT 7357780 is a solid carbide replaceable tip drill in the CoroDrill 870 series, designed for high-productivity hole-making in demanding machining applications. The insert tip measures 15.00 mm (0.6102 inches) in cutting diameter and features a TiAlN coating applied via PVD process, providing heat and wear resistance during high-speed drilling. The 142-degree drill point angle and helical flute geometry support clean entry and efficient chip evacuation. This tip is held in place by a clamp-style insert seat and is compatible with CoroDrill 870 bodies at insert seat size 15. Machinists and tooling technicians install this tip as a consumable replacement in production drilling operations.
The 7357780 replaceable tip is suited for solid drilling operations across a range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium — corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and S. It is commonly used in CNC machining centers and multi-spindle setups in both job shop and production environments. The regular spiral flute type and standard point geometry make it a general-purpose option across these material groups. No through-coolant capability is present on this tip.
Designed for use with CoroDrill 870 series drill bodies at insert seat size 15. ISO designation 870-1550-15-PM 4334 identifies the correct body and seat pairing.
Installation of replaceable drill tips should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. The insert seat should be cleaned and inspected for damage before seating the new tip. Use the manufacturer-specified torque tool or clamping key for the CoroDrill 870 system — do not use improvised tools that may damage the clamping mechanism or seat surface. Confirm proper seating and runout before resuming cutting operations.
