The SANDVIK COROMANT 7357747 is a replaceable drill tip engineered for use with CoroDrill 870 modular drilling systems. This insert-style tip features a 15.00 mm (0.5787 inch) cutting diameter, a 142-degree drill point angle, and is manufactured from solid carbide with a fine-grain substrate. It carries a PVD-applied AlTiCrN coating that provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting demanding materials. The insert geometry is MM with a seat size of 14, and the helical flute design promotes chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole drilling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling technicians are the primary users.
This drill tip is designed for solid drilling applications where material removal rates and surface finish in challenging workpiece materials are critical. Primary workpiece material designations are M and S, covering stainless steels, superalloys, and titanium alloys. The CoroDrill 870 platform is common in aerospace, energy, and precision machining environments where controlled chip formation and consistent hole quality are required. The tip mounts via clamp-style insert holding, which allows fast tip changes without removing the holder from the machine spindle.
Designed for use with CoroDrill 870 modular drill holders accepting seat size 14 inserts with MM geometry. ISO designation 870-1470-14-MM 2334 identifies the compatible holder and seat interface. Verify holder seat size and geometry code before ordering.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the machine tool manufacturer and SANDVIK COROMANT CoroDrill 870 tooling assembly guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is locked out before changing the tip insert. Clean the insert seat thoroughly before seating the tip to ensure proper location and clamping force. Do not exceed the clamping torque specification listed in the applicable CoroDrill 870 holder documentation.
