The SANDVIK COROMANT 7357598 is a replaceable drill tip from the CoroDrill 870 series, designed for use with modular indexable drill bodies in demanding metal-cutting applications. It features an 11.11 mm (0.4374 inch) cutting diameter, a 142-degree drill point angle, and is manufactured from solid carbide with a fine grain substrate. The AlTiCrN coating is applied via a PVD process, delivering elevated heat and wear resistance suited for high-productivity drilling cycles. With 2 helical flutes and a regular spiral configuration, this tip promotes chip evacuation in deep-hole drilling operations.
This drill tip is engineered primarily for drilling stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — workpiece material codes M and S. It is an OEM-style insert for CoroDrill 870 modular drill bodies using seat size 8 and insert geometry MM. Typical applications include solid drilling in aerospace, energy, and precision machining environments where consistent hole quality and tool life in tough materials are required. It is installed by CNC machinists and toolroom technicians working with insert-style modular drilling systems.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroDrill 870 series modular drill bodies configured for insert seat size 8 with MM geometry. Compatible workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium per ISO material codes M and S.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians following the drill body manufacturer torque and clamping procedures specified in the CoroDrill 870 tooling documentation. Ensure the drill body and spindle are fully de-energized and stationary before replacing the insert tip. Inspect the insert seat for damage, debris, or wear before seating the new tip, as contamination or a damaged seat will affect runout and tip retention. Follow the tool manufacturer clamping sequence to achieve correct seating — do not over-torque the clamping screw.
