The SANDVIK COROMANT 7357551 is a carbide replaceable tip drill designed for precision hole-making in metal cutting applications. This drill features a solid carbide tip in manufacturer grade 4334 with a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating applied via PVD process, delivering strong wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The included angle measures 142 degrees, and the cutting diameter is 10.00mm (0.3937 inches). The replaceable tip design reduces tooling cost by allowing tip exchange without discarding the drill body. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, production facilities, and maintenance environments are the primary users of this tool.
This drill belongs to the CoroDrill 870 series and uses an insert seat size 6 interface. It is suited for drilling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where consistent hole diameter and surface finish are required. The PM insert geometry supports stable cutting action across a range of work materials. This drill does not include through-tool coolant delivery, so external coolant or flood cooling should be applied at the cutting zone during operation.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroDrill 870 series drill bodies accepting insert seat size 6. Verify body seat size before ordering to ensure proper tip-to-body interface fit.
Installation and tip changes should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's procedure for replaceable tip drills. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before handling or exchanging the drill tip. Seat the tip fully into the drill body using the appropriate torx or mounting key as specified by the tool body; do not use substitute tools that may damage the seating interface. Confirm tip seating and runout before beginning a cutting cycle.
