The SANDVIK COROMANT 7309650 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for high-performance material removal in demanding cutting applications. Carrying the S30T manufacturer grade and a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, this single-sided, right-hand insert measures 11.5 mm wide and 4.95 mm thick with a 1.52 mm corner radius and a maximum depth of cut of 0.4213 inches. The rectangular R331.1A insert style features two cutting edges, a positive rake geometry, and a WL chip breaker configuration. It is secured via screw-holding method and is compatible with the N331.32 cutter series. Installation and setup are performed by machinists and CNC operators working with milling tool bodies that accept this insert family.
This insert is engineered primarily for cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium — workpiece material codes M and S — making it well suited for aerospace, medical, and process-industry component machining. The positive rake and corner-rounded cutting edge style reduce cutting forces on difficult-to-machine materials. The ANSI and ISO designation for this insert is R331.1A-11 50 15H-WLS30T, and it corresponds to insert size code 115015 with material grades M25 and S25. Typical applications include shoulder milling and face milling operations where tool life consistency and surface finish quality on heat-resistant alloys are critical.
Designed for use with the N331.32 cutter series. ANSI and ISO designation R331.1A-11 50 15H-WLS30T. Fits tool bodies accepting insert style R331.1A, insert size 11, with a 0.1811-inch hole diameter and screw-holding retention.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key to the tool body manufacturer's specified seating procedure — do not overtighten the clamping screw, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excess lateral force. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert.
