The SANDVIK COROMANT 7101114 is a solid carbide milling insert in the 345 series, designed for use in positive and negative rake milling cutters requiring precise, repeatable cutting performance. Manufactured to grade 1130 with an AlTiCrN coating applied via PVD process, this double-sided square insert delivers eight usable cutting edges per insert. The inscribed circle measures 13.00 mm (0.5118 inches), thickness is 5.95 mm (0.2146 inches), and corner radius is 0.80 mm (1/32 inch). It carries a negative rake geometry with a 24-degree rake angle and a 90-degree included angle, making it well suited to high-productivity face and shoulder milling operations. Licensed machinists and CNC machine operators are the primary installers of this tooling.
This insert is intended for milling applications across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, N, S, and H). The MM chip breaker geometry controls chip flow across this material range. The insert is held in the cutter body by screw clamping and is designed for right-hand cutting. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Before changing inserts, confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out per your facility lockout/tagout procedure. Use the correct Torx or hex key specified by the cutter body manufacturer to seat the clamping screw to proper engagement — do not overtighten or use impact tools on the clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket and seat for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure full, flat contact.
