The SANDVIK COROMANT 7080810 is an SNMG643-MR 4335 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. This insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, making it highly suited for steel workpiece applications where heat resistance and wear life are critical. The square insert shape provides 8 usable cutting edges, extending tool life between changeovers. With a 3/4-inch inscribed circle and a 3/64-inch corner radius, this insert fits standard SNMG-style toolholders and is offered in a neutral hand orientation for versatile use on both left- and right-hand setups.
This insert is intended for use in the SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P series tooling system, which is widely deployed in production turning environments for steel components. Typical applications include external turning, facing, and profiling of low- to medium-alloy steels in both roughing and finishing passes where consistent chip control is required. The MR chip breaker geometry is engineered specifically for medium machining conditions on steel. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production machining environments.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P series SNMG-style toolholders. ISO code SNMG 19 06 12-MR 4335 confirms fitment to toolholders specifying the SNMG 19 06 12 insert seat size.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine spindle fully stopped and all axes locked out per the machine manufacturer's lockout procedure. Use a calibrated torque wrench when tightening clamp screws to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for chips or contamination before seating each new edge. Do not mix insert grades or geometries within the same toolholder during a production run.
