The SANDVIK COROMANT 7080789 is a DNMG432-MF 4335 series turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. This solid carbide insert features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, optimized for steel workpiece materials. The 55-degree diamond insert shape provides a strong cutting geometry, while the MF chip breaker is engineered for medium finishing operations. The inscribed circle measures 0.5000 inches (12.70 mm), the corner radius is 0.0313 inches (0.79 mm), and insert thickness is 0.1875 inches (4.76 mm). This insert is part of the T-Max P series and is installed by machinists and CNC technicians in production turning applications.
This insert is suited for turning steel workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium finishing passes where controlled chip formation and surface finish quality are priorities. The neutral hand orientation makes it compatible with standard DNMG toolholders. The 4335 grade with CVD TiCN/Al2O3/TiN coating delivers thermal resistance and wear life appropriate for continuous and light interrupted cuts in steel. It is commonly used in aerospace, automotive, and general machining applications where ISO P-class workpiece materials are processed. Four cutting edges per insert are available, reducing tooling cost per edge.
Designed for use in DNMG-style toolholders that accept a 432 insert size with clamp or pin holding. ISO code DNMG 15 04 08-MF 4335. Intended for primary use on steel workpiece materials (ISO P-class designation). Neutral hand suits standard right-hand and left-hand toolholder configurations where DNMG geometry is specified.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamp for wear or damage before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and cutting-edge alignment.
