The SANDVIK COROMANT 7080726 is a carbide turning insert in the CoroTurn 107 series, designed for external and internal turning operations on steel workpieces. Carrying the ANSI designation CCMT432 and ISO code CCMT 12 04 08-PR 4335, it features a CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN that delivers moderate wear resistance combined with high toughness. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.0313 inch corner radius, it is well suited for roughing and medium machining passes. Screw-type insert holding keeps the insert secure under interrupted and continuous cutting loads. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators working in job shops or production environments are the primary installers.
This insert is engineered for steel machining applications classified under ISO material group P. The PR chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining operations, handling a range of depths of cut and feed rates typical in steel turning. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable to both right-hand and left-hand toolholder configurations. It seats into CCMT-compatible toolholders and boring bars that accept the 432 ANSI size. Applications include shaft turning, facing, and general component profiling in both high-production and maintenance machining environments.
Designed for use in CCMT-style toolholders and boring bars that accept the ANSI 432 insert size. Compatible with the Sandvik Coromant CoroTurn 107 toolholder system. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO P group).
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle stopped and all axis motion locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the correct Torx or hex key specified for the CoroTurn 107 clamping screw to avoid stripping the screw head or over-stressing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Never attempt to index or remove an insert while the machine is in cycle or the toolholder is under cutting load.
