The SANDVIK COROMANT 6633725 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert designed for use in compatible 880-series indexable drill bodies. This insert carries a manufacturer grade designation of 4334 and features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides thermal resistance and wear protection during demanding hole-making operations. It has a square shape with an 880GR chipbreaker geometry and is configured for right-hand cutting direction. With an inscribed circle of 0.498 inches (12.65 mm) and a corner radius of 0.047 inches (1.20 mm), this insert is suited for precision drilling applications in ferrous and similar workpiece materials. Licensed HVAC technicians and trade machinists handling metal fabrication rely on this type of insert for consistent, repeatable hole quality.
This insert is intended for use in CNC machining centers, turning centers with live tooling, and dedicated drilling machines where 880-series indexable drill bodies are in service. It is appropriate for production-volume drilling in shop environments requiring tight tolerances. The GR chipbreaker geometry is engineered to manage chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole drilling scenarios. The insert size designation is 070412, and it is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units per order.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for use in SANDVIK COROMANT 880-series indexable drill bodies requiring an insert size 070412 square geometry with GR chipbreaker. Confirm drill body insert pocket specifications before installation.
Indexable drill insert replacement is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool body is removed from the machine or locked out before handling inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to remove and reseat the clamping screw, and inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating the new insert. Do not overtighten the clamping screw beyond the tool body manufacturer's recommendation.
