The SANDVIK COROMANT 6626835 is a solid carbide indexable drill insert designed for use in compatible 880-series indexable drill bodies. Featuring the LM chipbreaker geometry and a square insert shape, this insert is sized at 0.3504 inches (8.90 mm) inscribed circle with a thickness of 0.1181 inches. It carries a TiCN plus Al2O3 coating applied via CWD coating process, providing wear and heat resistance during drilling operations. The manufacturer grade is 4324, suited for a range of workpiece materials. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. This insert is installed and replaced by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for use in 880-series indexable drill tooling systems in metalworking applications. The square insert shape and LM chipbreaker make it applicable to general-purpose drilling in materials where controlled chip formation is required. With a corner radius of 0.0315 inches (0.80 mm) and a mounting hole diameter of 0.1260 inches (3.20 mm), this insert fits within the 880 insert pocket system for both peripheral and center insert positions as specified by the tooling system. Suitable for use in CNC machining centers and drill press setups across production and maintenance environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for SANDVIK COROMANT 880-series indexable drill bodies accepting Insert Style 880, Insert Size 05P, square-shape inserts with the LM chipbreaker designation.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Disengage and lock out the machine spindle before handling inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the drill body manufacturer when seating and torquing the insert clamping screw. Inspect the insert pocket for damage or debris before installing a new insert, and never force an insert into a pocket that shows wear or deformation.
