The SANDVIK COROMANT 6532122 is a solid carbide grooving insert in the CoroCut 1-2 series, designed for external grooving, parting, and profiling operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a multilayer MT-CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. The insert features a neutral hand orientation, a 4 mm cutting width, and a maximum depth of cut of 2.2 mm. Manufacturer grade 4325 is suited for steel and general-purpose turning applications where controlled chip formation and edge life are priorities. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians.
This insert is intended for use in grooving and parting operations on turning machines running steel and similar materials. The TF chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation in narrow groove applications. With a corner radius of 0.40 mm and a cutting height of 4.35 mm, the insert fits standard CoroCut 1-2 series toolholders that accept the H1 seat size. It is appropriate for both production turning and maintenance machining environments where consistent groove geometry and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed for use with CoroCut 1-2 series toolholders that accept H1 seat size inserts with a 4 mm cutting width. ISO code N123H1-0400-0004-TF 4325 identifies the precise insert geometry and grade for toolholder and catalog matching.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine in a de-energized, locked-out state following applicable shop safety procedures. Use the correct torx or clamping key specified for the CoroCut 1-2 toolholder to secure the insert without overtightening. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can affect runout and edge life. Insert replacement should be carried out by a qualified machinist familiar with turning toolholder systems.
