The SANDVIK COROMANT 6532044 is a solid carbide milling insert designed for use in indexable face and shoulder milling operations. Part of the 345 cutter series, this insert carries the manufacturer grade 1040 and features a physical vapor deposition (PVD) TiAlN coating for extended tool life in demanding cutting applications. The square insert shape provides 8 usable cutting edges on a double-sided configuration, making it a cost-effective choice for high-production environments. At 5.95 mm thick with a 13 mm inscribed circle and a 0.80 mm corner radius, it is engineered for consistent chip formation and stable engagement at depths of cut up to 6.00 mm. A negative rake geometry with a 24-degree rake angle and the MM chip breaker geometry support controlled cutting in steel and stainless steel workpieces.
This insert is suited for milling of steel and stainless steel in both roughing and semi-finishing operations. The MM chip breaker is optimized for ISO material groups P and M, covering carbon steels, alloy steels, and austenitic stainless steels. It is compatible with the SANDVIK COROMANT 345 cutter series and is identified by ANSI and ISO code 345R-13T5M-MM 1040. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers in both production shop and job shop environments where consistent insert indexing and repeatable surface finish are required.
Compatible with SANDVIK COROMANT 345 series cutter bodies. Identified by ANSI and ISO code 345R-13T5M-MM 1040 with insert size code 13T5. Suitable for right-hand cutter configurations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when tightening the clamping screw — do not overtighten. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for wear or debris before inserting a new index.
