The SANDVIK COROMANT 6427395 is a solid carbide grooving insert designed for use in CoroCut 1-2 tooling systems. It carries a TiCrAlN and TiAlN PVD coating applied under grade 1125, delivering wear resistance suited to demanding grooving and parting operations on a CNC lathe or turning center. The insert features a neutral hand orientation, a 3.00 mm cutting width, and a maximum depth of cut of 2.10 mm. Corner radius measures 0.30 mm with a positive rake geometry and TF chip breaker. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in production turning environments install this insert as a direct replacement in compatible CoroCut 1-2 toolholders.
This insert is intended for external and internal grooving, parting, and profiling applications on CNC turning equipment. The QD insert style and G seat size match the CoroCut 1-2 system interface. It is suited to both roughing and finishing passes within its depth-of-cut range of 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm. The PVD-coated grade 1125 construction supports machining of steel, stainless steel, and similar workpiece materials where edge integrity and coating adhesion are priorities. The multi-use designation means a single insert can address grooving, turning, and profiling within its geometry limits.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroCut 1-2 toolholders accepting QD-style inserts with a G seat size. ISO code QD-NG-0300-0003-TF 1125 identifies the exact holder-to-insert interface requirement.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state. Seat and clamping surfaces should be cleaned of chips and debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and prevent micro-fracture at the cutting edge. Torque the clamping screw only to the toolholder manufacturer specification found in the CoroCut 1-2 documentation. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut, as overloading a grooving insert laterally can cause sudden edge failure.
