The SANDVIK COROMANT 6259426 is a solid carbide ball end mill from the CoroMill Plura Series 1B230, engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 2.50 mm (0.0984 inch) cutting diameter, a 7.00 mm length of cut, and a 1.25 mm nose radius. The AlCrN PVD coating provides high thermal and wear resistance, making this tool suitable for both roughing and finishing operations. A 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and shrink-fit holders. Machinists and CNC programmers running precision work in aerospace, die-mold, or general machining will recognize this as a purpose-built tool for tight-tolerance features.
This end mill is suited for small-feature milling on ferrous and exotic workpiece materials including steel (ISO P), stainless steel (ISO M), cast iron (ISO K), and superalloys and titanium (ISO S). With a 38.00 mm overall length, a right-hand cut, and a 30-degree medium helix with helical flutes, it is appropriate for CNC machining centers performing slot milling, profiling, and contour work in production or toolroom environments. No extended reach geometry is present, positioning it for standard-depth applications where rigidity is a priority.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard 3.00 mm collet, shrink-fit, or hydraulic toolholders. Compatible workpiece materials include ISO P steel, ISO M stainless steel, ISO K cast iron, and ISO S superalloys and titanium, as specified by SANDVIK COROMANT for the CoroMill Plura 1B230 series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician using a properly sized collet or shrink-fit holder matched to the 3.00 mm shank. Confirm runout is within acceptable limits at the toolholder before running; excessive runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or unloading the tool. Follow the machine tool builder and cutting tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut for the specific workpiece material.
