The SANDVIK COROMANT 6224919 is a left-hand indexable grooving and cutoff toolholder designed for external turning applications on CNC lathes and turning centers. Built to the CoroCut 1-2 series standard, it accepts N123E2-0200-CM inserts secured by a clamp-style insert holding method. The toolholder features a 5/8 x 5/8 inch shank (15.88 x 15.88 mm) and an overall length of 2.76 inches (70 mm). It supports groove widths from 1.85 mm to 2.39 mm and a maximum depth of cut of 17 mm (0.67 inches). Through-coolant capability is built in, allowing direct coolant delivery to the cutting edge for improved chip evacuation and insert life. This holder is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This toolholder is suited for external grooving, parting, and cut-off operations on lathes and turning centers where left-hand orientation is required. The QS-LF123..BHP style designation places it within the Sandvik Coromant quick-change tooling platform, making it appropriate for setups that demand repeatable tool positioning with minimal changeover time. Typical applications include grooving for snap-ring channels, undercuts, and part-off operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The integrated through-coolant port is particularly beneficial in high-speed parting operations where heat management at the cutting zone is critical.
Compatible with N123E2-0200-CM inserts. Designed for use with the Sandvik Coromant CoroCut 1-2 insert series. Insert size code N123E2 applies.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder. Ensure the shank seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before tightening into the tool block or quick-change holder. Verify coolant line connection and flow before initiating a cut when using the through-coolant feature.
