The SANDVIK COROMANT 6035762 is a replaceable-tip drill body from the CoroDrill 870 series, designed for precision hole-making in metal cutting applications. The tool accepts 870-2090-20-PM inserts at insert seat size 20 and covers a drilling diameter range of 19.93 to 20.99 mm (0.7847 to 0.8264 inches). Maximum drill depth reaches 108.15 mm (4.2578 inches), representing a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Overall length is 188 mm (7.4016 inches). The body is constructed of steel and features a straight-cylindrical shank. Through-coolant capability is built in, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in demanding production environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers.
This drill body fits into the CoroDrill 870 toolholder style 870 LX-5 and is suited for production drilling in machining centers and CNC lathes where consistent hole quality and repeatable insert indexing are required. The replaceable-tip design allows the cutting insert to be swapped at the machine without removing the body from the spindle, reducing downtime in high-volume operations. Flute length is 128.83 mm (5.0721 inches), and body length is 111 mm (4.3701 inches). Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in steel, cast iron, and similar machinable alloys in both job-shop and production environments.
Designed for use with 870-2090-20-PM replaceable-tip inserts at insert seat size 20. Compatible toolholder style is 870 LX-5 within the CoroDrill 870 series platform.
Installation and insert indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout-tagout procedures. Confirm through-coolant pressure and flow requirements are met by the machine tool before operation. Torque the insert to the tool body using the appropriate Torx key following the insert manufacturer seating procedure. Inspect shank runout after clamping to verify concentricity before initiating a cut.
