The SANDVIK COROMANT 5965435 is a VBGW-style solid carbide turning insert in grade 7525, designed for precision external turning operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Featuring a 35-degree diamond shape and a titanium nitride (TiN) coating applied via PVD process, this insert delivers wear resistance and edge integrity on demanding workpiece materials. The neutral hand orientation suits standard right-hand toolholders in the CoroTurn 107 series. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, this insert is suited for finish and semi-finish turning passes where dimensional control matters. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops running production or job-shop turning operations.
This insert is engineered primarily for cast iron (ISO material group K) and hard materials (ISO group H), making it a practical choice for ferrous and hardened-part turning applications. The CoroTurn 107 series is a screw-clamped toolholding system, and this insert is sized and toleranced (clearance code B, tolerance code G) to fit compatible CoroTurn 107 holders directly. The W chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation during finish turning cycles. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 5.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroTurn 107 series screw-clamp toolholders accepting VBGW-style inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle. ISO code reference: VBGW160404T01020F 7525.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified method without overtightening. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or contamination before seating a new insert. Always verify tool offset and run a test cut before committing to production tolerances.
