Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamp seat are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Use the specified clamp and pin holding method to secure the insert; do not over-torque the clamp screw beyond the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edge for chips or cracks before each use and index or replace as needed.
