The SANDVIK COROMANT 5857562 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for external Stub Acme thread cutting at 8 threads per inch (TPI). Part of the CoroThread 266 series, this insert carries a TiCrAlN/TiN coating applied via PVD process, which provides wear resistance and extended tool life in demanding threading operations. It features a right-hand cutting orientation and a 60-degree included angle. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches and a thickness of 0.1563 inches, the insert is sized for standard 266-series toolholders. This insert is installed and replaced by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following standard indexable insert procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Use a torx or hex key of the appropriate size for the toolholder clamp screw and do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamp torque. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamp for damage or debris before seating the new insert.
