The SANDVIK COROMANT 5765587 is a straight-shank indexable insert drill from the CoroDrill 880 series, designed for high-productivity drilling operations in metal cutting applications. The drill accepts two indexable inserts and has a maximum drill diameter of 23mm (0.9449 inches) with a 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio, allowing a maximum drill depth of 2.85 inches. The steel body features through-coolant capability, which helps manage heat and chip evacuation during deep drilling cycles. This drill is intended for installation and use by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC and manual machining environments.
The 5765587 is suited for use in production machining, job shop drilling, and component manufacturing where consistent bore geometry is required. Its straight cylindrical shank measures 25mm (0.9843 inches) in diameter and fits standard toolholders and chucks configured for that shank size. The 3xD depth ratio and right-hand cutting direction make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole applications in steel, cast iron, and similar machinable materials where indexable tooling is preferred over solid carbide drills for cost-per-hole efficiency.
Compatible with drill style 880..L-03 indexable inserts. Insert size is 2.80mm (0.1102 inches). Designed for use with standard straight-cylindrical toolholders accepting a 25mm shank diameter.
Installation and insert changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Ensure the shank is properly seated and clamped to the specified toolholder torque per the toolholder manufacturer's documentation. Confirm coolant passages are clear before operation when using the through-coolant feature. Handle indexable inserts with care and inspect seating surfaces before securing inserts to avoid runout or insert failure during cutting.
