The SANDVIK COROMANT 5765384 is an indexable insert drill from the CoroDrill 880 series, designed for general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication and machining operations. It accepts two 880-series inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 66 millimeters at a 3xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The 21mm cutting diameter and 25mm Weldon flat flange shank make it compatible with standard tool holders used in CNC machining centers and milling machines. Coolant is delivered axially through the body via a concentric entry port, supporting chip evacuation and tool life during deep-hole drilling cycles. This drill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in production shop environments.
The 5765384 is suited for general-purpose drilling applications in a range of workpiece materials. It is built around the CoroDrill 880 platform, which uses double-sided indexable inserts to reduce tooling cost per hole. Typical install scenarios include vertical machining centers, horizontal mills, and turning centers equipped with live tooling. The right-hand cutting direction and flange shank configuration suit most standard spindle and block-style tool holders used in production drilling.
Designed for use with CoroDrill 880 series indexable inserts in sizes 880-040305H-C-GM and 880-0403W05H-P-GM. Compatible insert size codes are 040305 and 0403W05. Insert lock screw model 5513 020-58 is specified for this body. Fits tool holders accepting a 25mm Weldon flat flange shank.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing the drill body. Verify insert seating and lock screw torque per the insert manufacturer tooling manual before running the spindle. Confirm coolant passages are clear and coolant pressure is appropriate for the machining application before beginning a drilling cycle.
