The SANDVIK COROMANT 5765366 is an indexable insert drill designed for high-productivity hole-making in metal cutting applications. Built on the CoroDrill 880 platform, this drill body accepts two indexable inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 53.75mm at a 2xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The 25mm shank diameter matches the 25mm maximum drill diameter, keeping the setup rigid and well-supported. The body is constructed from steel and features through-coolant capability, allowing coolant to reach the cutting zone directly for improved chip evacuation and insert life. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This drill body is suited for use in CNC machining centers and turning centers equipped with driven tooling, where consistent hole quality and repeatable depth control are required. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct mounting in standard hydraulic, shrink-fit, or collet-style toolholders sized for 25mm shanks. The 2xD depth ratio makes this an efficient choice for through-holes and shallow blind holes in steel, cast iron, and similar workpiece materials. The flute length of 68.60mm provides adequate chip clearance throughout the full drilling cycle.
Compatible with drill style 880..L-02 indexable inserts. Insert size is 3.00mm. Designed for use with toolholders accepting a 25mm straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or turret is in a safe state before mounting or removing the drill body. Verify that the toolholder bore matches the 25mm shank diameter and that the tool is properly torqued and seated before initiating a cut. Inspect inserts for wear or damage before each use and replace as needed to maintain hole quality and prevent tool body damage.
