The SANDVIK COROMANT 5765318 is a CoroDrill 880 series indexable insert drill designed for general-purpose drilling in steel and similar materials. It accepts two indexable inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 96 millimeters (3.78 inches) with an 18.5 mm (0.9843 inch) maximum drill diameter. The drill operates at a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio, making it suitable for moderate-depth hole-making operations. A Weldon Flat and Flange shank provides secure tool holding in compatible toolholders. Coolant is delivered through the body via an axial concentric entry, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in production environments. This tool is installed by machinists and tooling specialists in CNC drilling and milling applications.
The 5765318 fits into general-purpose drilling programs where consistent hole geometry and insert changeability are priorities. The right-hand cutting direction and 25 mm (0.9843 inch) shank diameter suit a wide range of machine spindle setups. Compatible insert styles are limited to the 880 series in size codes 030305 and 0303W05, and the insert lock screw is the 5513 020-33. The 96 mm flute length supports chip clearance through the full depth range. This drill is suited for production shops, job shops, and maintenance-machining environments running CNC machining centers or drill presses with adequate spindle torque.
Compatible with 880-series indexable inserts including 880-030305H-C-GM and 880-0303W05H-P-GM. Uses insert lock screw 5513 020-33. Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses with a 25 mm toolholder bore accepting a Weldon Flat and Flange shank.
Installation and insert changes should be performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or servicing the drill body or inserts. Use the specified insert lock screw and a calibrated torx or hex key to secure inserts; do not substitute fasteners. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and that the machine coolant system is connected and set to appropriate flow before running the tool.
