The SANDVIK COROMANT 5765136 is a CoroDrill 880 series indexable insert drill engineered for high-productivity hole-making in metalworking and machining applications. The drill body accepts two indexable inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 61 mm (approximately 2.40 inches) with a 4xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The 14.5 mm nominal drill diameter (15.40 mm maximum) and 20 mm flange shank make this a rigid, repeatable tooling solution for CNC turning centers and machining centers. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. The steel body is designed to pair with compatible 880-series inserts for efficient chip evacuation and consistent hole quality.
This drill is suited for medium to large machining operations where indexable insert tooling is preferred over brazed or solid-carbide drills. Typical applications include production drilling in steel, stainless steel, and cast materials on horizontal or vertical machining centers. The flange shank interface provides secure clamping and accurate radial positioning. The integrated coolant-through capability supports internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting zone, making this drill effective in high-cycle or deep-hole production environments where heat management is critical.
Compatible inserts per manufacturer data: 880-020204H-C-GM and 880-0202W04H-P-GM. This drill body is designed for use within the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroDrill 880 system and accepts standard 880-series peripheral and center inserts matching the 020204 geometry designation.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a full stop, spindle locked, and all energy sources isolated per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. The flange shank must be seated and clamped according to the machine tool manufacturer specifications for the applicable spindle interface. Verify insert seating and screw torque using tooling manufacturer guidelines before initiating a cut. Internal coolant connections should be confirmed leak-free before operation.
