The SANDVIK COROMANT 5764353 is a modular turning profiling head designed for internal turning and profiling operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the T-Max P series, this head features a Size 40 system with a neck diameter of 1.5748 inches (40 mm) and a head length projection of 1.4173 inches (36 mm). It accepts VBMT 160408 inserts secured by a wedge clamping method and delivers coolant directly through the head to the cutting zone. The right-hand cutting direction and negative rake geometry make it well suited for high-precision internal profiling in steel and similar materials. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install and set up this tooling.
This profiling head is used in internal turning applications where bore profiling, contouring, or finish turning is required. The minimum hole diameter it can operate in is 2.0472 inches (52 mm), with a maximum hole depth of 1.4173 inches (36 mm), making it appropriate for moderate-depth internal features in precision machined components. The center-to-cutting-edge distance is 1.1811 inches (30 mm). It is suited for use in job shops, production machining environments, and tool rooms working with medium to large bore diameters in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces.
Compatible insert styles include VBMT 160408 and VNMG 160408. This head is designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT T-Max P modular turning system holders and shanks with a head connection size of 32.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or tooling technicians familiar with modular turning systems. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before changing or indexing the profiling head. Follow the tooling manufacturer torque and assembly procedure for the modular connection interface. Verify insert seating, clamping, and coolant line engagement before resuming cutting operations.
