The SANDVIK COROMANT 5758647 is a replaceable carbide milling tip designed for thread milling operations in the CoroMill 327 system. This right-hand, 6-flute insert carries a TiAlN and TiN PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition, which improves surface hardness and wear resistance at the cutting edge. The tip measures 0.8543 inches in cutting diameter with a functional length of 0.2008 inches and a length of cut of 3/64 inch. It is engineered for use by machinists and CNC tool setters working in precision threading applications across a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for thread milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering material groups P, M, K, N, and S. It operates at a 90-degree lead angle with a 60-degree included angle, making it appropriate for standard metric and unified thread forms. The 327 style tip seats into compatible CoroMill 327 thread mill bodies and is indexed or replaced without removing the tool body from the machine. Typical applications include both through-hole and blind-hole threading in production and job-shop CNC milling environments.
Designed for use with compatible CoroMill 327 series thread mill tool bodies accepting the R12-22 100VM insert size. Confirm body compatibility with the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill 327 system documentation before ordering.
Thread milling inserts of this type are installed and removed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician using the appropriate torque wrench and seating tool specified by the tool body manufacturer. Always power down and lock out the CNC spindle before changing or seating any replaceable tip. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or wear before installing a new tip. Follow the tool body manufacturer's clamping torque specification to avoid insert movement or pocket damage during cutting.
