The SANDVIK COROMANT 5758644 is a replaceable carbide milling tip designed for thread milling operations on CNC machining centers. It seats into compatible CoroMill 327 series toolholders and produces 60-degree included-angle threads in a single helical interpolation pass. The tip is ground with 3 flutes, coated with TiAlN and TiN via a PVD process, and carries Sandvik grade 1025. Cutting diameter is 0.6968 inches (17.70 mm), maximum depth of cut is 0.1023 inches (2.6 mm), and functional length is 0.1654 inches. The right-hand cut geometry and 90-degree lead angle suit general-purpose thread milling in production environments.
This tip is suited for threading operations across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and S. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole internal thread milling on vertical and horizontal machining centers in job shop and production environments. Material grade coverage spans P10 through P30, M10 through M20, S10 through S20, and N10 through N20, making it a versatile choice where a single tip style must handle mixed-material work orders.
Designed as a replaceable milling tip for SANDVIK COROMANT CoroMill 327 series thread milling toolholders. Insert size designation is R09-18 250VM. Confirm holder compatibility against Sandvik CoroMill 327 toolholder specifications before ordering.
Installation is performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling setup technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tip. Use the torque wrench specified by the toolholder manufacturer for the clamping screw — do not estimate by feel. Verify tip seating and runout with a dial indicator before cutting, and confirm thread interpolation parameters in the CNC program match the tip geometry and workpiece thread specification.
