The SANDVIK COROMANT 5758237 is a solid carbide external threading insert designed for use in the CoroThread 266 series. It cuts API Round thread profiles at 8 threads per inch (TPI) with a 60-degree included angle. The insert is right-hand orientation and features a PVD coating applied over the Manufacturer Grade 1125 carbide substrate. This combination of coating and grade is suited for demanding threading operations where edge wear resistance and surface finish consistency matter. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical trade machinists and industrial tooling professionals install and replace these inserts on CoroThread 266 toolholders during production or maintenance threading work.
This insert is used for external threading applications conforming to the API Round thread standard, which is common in oil-country tubular goods and pipe-fitting manufacturing. With an insert size of 22 and Chipbreaker style A, it is configured for moderate chip control during external threading passes. The insert fits CoroThread 266 series holders and is packaged individually. It suits machining environments where precise thread form and repeatable insert changeover are required on external pipe or coupling stock.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 series toolholders. ISO Code 266RG22RD01A080E1125 identifies the exact insert geometry and grade for holder and application matching.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine in a stopped, locked-out state per applicable machine safety procedures. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified for CoroThread 266 holders to seat the insert properly without damaging the pocket. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before installing a new insert. Do not exceed the cutting parameters specified in the toolholder documentation for this insert grade and thread form.
