The SANDVIK COROMANT 5758112 is a laydown threading insert designed for cutting external Acme threads on CNC and manual lathes. It carries manufacturer grade 1020 solid carbide construction with a PVD-applied TiN coating for wear resistance and edge retention in demanding threading applications. The insert runs a right-hand cutting geometry, produces 3 threads per inch, and fits a 5/8 inch (15.88 mm) inscribed circle toolholder seat. At 7 mm (0.2756 inch) thick with a single tooth per side and an included angle of 60 degrees, it is sized for precision Acme thread profiles in both production and maintenance-repair machining environments. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert as part of the CoroThread 266 system.
This insert is intended for external Acme threading operations in metalworking environments. It is suited to production turning of lead screws, power screws, and similar components where Acme thread form accuracy is required. The CoroThread 266 series is a structured laydown insert platform used in both light-duty and medium-duty threading passes. The 3 TPI pitch targets coarse Acme applications typically found in industrial machinery, valve stems, and linear-motion hardware. Installation is performed by machining professionals working on CNC turning centers or manual engine lathes equipped with compatible CoroThread 266 toolholders.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 series laydown threading toolholders that accept a 5/8 inch inscribed circle insert with a 6.50 mm hole diameter. Manufacturer catalog number for cross-reference is 266RG-27AC01F030E 1020.
This insert is installed and changed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down the machine and engage all safety locks before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct Torx or insert-retention key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert fully and avoid movement during the cut. Do not run the insert beyond visible flank wear limits, as a degraded edge will compromise Acme thread form accuracy.
