The SANDVIK COROMANT 5758086 is an indexable threading toolholder designed for both internal and external thread cutting operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. Part of the CoroThread 266 series, it features a right-hand orientation and a 3/4-inch (18.01 mm) round shank with an overall length of 10 inches. The toolholder accepts 266RL to 16 inserts held by a screw-clamp method, providing reliable, repeatable insert positioning. Coolant-through capability is built in, supporting chip evacuation and tool life in demanding threading applications. Machining professionals and CNC setup technicians working in precision thread production are the primary users of this toolholder.
This toolholder is suited for threading operations in both production and job-shop environments. Its internal threading capability starts at a minimum bore diameter of 0.98 inches, making it applicable to a range of bore sizes encountered in general turning work. The 2.25-inch head length and a center-to-cutting-edge measurement of 0.551 inches (14.00 mm) allow for controlled thread form placement. The steel construction provides rigidity during interrupted and continuous threading cuts on ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
Designed for use with 266RL to 16 series inserts within the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 toolholder system. Fits standard 3/4-inch round shank tool stations on CNC lathes and turning centers configured for right-hand tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine powered down and in a locked-out, tagged-out state. Secure the shank fully in the tool station to the depth recommended by the machine tool manufacturer before operation. Verify coolant-through lines are connected and flowing before running threading cycles. Follow the insert manufacturer guidelines for insert indexing and replacement to maintain thread form accuracy.
