The SANDVIK COROMANT 5758024 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert from the CoroThread 266 series, designed for internal metric threading operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a dual-layer PVD coating of TiAlN and TiCrAlN for extended wear resistance in demanding threading applications. The insert features a right-hand cutting orientation, a 60-degree included angle for metric thread profiles, a 1.00 mm pitch, and an inscribed circle of 3/8 inches (9.53 mm). Manufacturer grade 1125 with chipbreaker style A makes this insert well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on internal metric threads. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists installing precision components rely on consistent thread geometry that this insert delivers.
This insert is used in internal threading of metric 60-degree thread forms on workpieces typically encountered in production machining environments, including industrial, commercial, and precision manufacturing settings. It fits CoroThread 266 series toolholders and is intended for right-hand internal threading operations where a 1.00 mm pitch metric thread profile is required. The insert size code is 16, and the chipbreaker designation A is appropriate for controlled chip formation during threading passes at typical production feed rates.
Designed for use with CoroThread 266 series toolholders accepting insert size code 16 right-hand internal threading inserts. Refer to the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 toolholder catalog for confirmed holder compatibility before installation.
Threading inserts should be installed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping specifications for the CoroThread 266 system. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or seating any insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for damage or debris before seating the insert. Never reuse a visibly chipped or worn insert on a finish threading pass, as dimensional thread accuracy will be compromised.
