The SANDVIK COROMANT 5757967 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for cutting right-hand internal NPTF threads. Part of the CoroThread 266 series, it carries a PVD-applied dual-layer TiCrAlN/TiAlN coating that supports wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. The insert is sized at a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and 5/32-inch thickness, with a 60-degree included angle and 14 threads per inch. It is intended for use by machinists and toolroom professionals working on precision pipe-thread applications where leak-free NPTF fit is required.
This insert is suited for internal threading operations on NPTF pipe fittings and components across production machining and maintenance environments. The 266RL-16NF01A140E 1125 geometry designation indicates a right-hand orientation with a single tooth per side and chipbreaker style A, making it appropriate for controlled-chip threading passes in CNC turning centers and manual lathes equipped with CoroThread 266 toolholders.
Designed for use with CoroThread 266 series toolholders accepting size-16 laydown threading inserts. Specific toolholder compatibility should be confirmed using the SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 selection guide.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Verify insert orientation and thread hand before commencing a threading cycle. Do not exceed the recommended depth-of-cut or feed rate specified in the cutting data tables for grade 1125.
