The SANDVIK COROMANT 5757952 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for cutting right hand internal Acme threads. Part of the CoroThread 266 series, this insert carries manufacturer grade 1020 and features a PVD-applied TiN coating for extended tool life in demanding threading operations. It is rated at 6 threads per inch with a 1/2 inch inscribed circle and a thickness of 0.2190 inches (5.56 mm). The F chipbreaker geometry supports chip control during internal threading passes. This insert is installed and serviced by machinists and CNC tooling technicians working on manual lathes, CNC turning centers, and thread milling applications.
This insert is suited for internal Acme thread production in both production shop and job shop environments. Acme threads are commonly found in lead screws, power transmission components, and linear actuator assemblies. The right hand orientation and single tooth per side design make this insert appropriate for finish threading passes on standard Acme thread profiles at 6 TPI. The 60 degree included angle matches the Acme thread form standard. It is packaged as a single insert and sold in a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 series toolholders accepting size code 22 laydown threading inserts. No additional compatible model numbers were specified in the product data.
Installation of threading inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torx or clamp screw driver specified for the toolholder to achieve correct clamping force without over-torquing the insert pocket. Verify insert orientation and seating before initiating threading cycles. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for insert indexing and replacement intervals.
