The SANDVIK COROMANT 5757951 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert engineered for right-hand internal Acme thread cutting at 5 threads per inch (TPI). Part of the CoroThread 266 series, it features a TiN coating applied via PVD process, delivering consistent surface hardness and wear resistance in demanding threading operations. The insert has a 1/2-inch (12.70 mm) inscribed circle, a thickness of 0.2190 inches (5.56 mm), and a hole diameter of 0.2244 inches (5.70 mm). It carries a 60-degree included angle with an F chipbreaker geometry. Installed by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC lathes and turning centers, this insert is suited for precision internal thread production in metalworking environments.
This insert is designed for internal Acme thread applications where tight pitch control and repeatable thread form are required. The Acme thread standard is commonly used in lead screws, power transmission components, and linear motion assemblies. The CoroThread 266 series laydown style is compatible with appropriately designated SANDVIK COROMANT toolholders designed for the 266 insert platform. The F chipbreaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation during internal threading passes. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 series toolholders configured for laydown threading inserts with a 22 insert size code and right-hand internal Acme thread geometry. Refer to the manufacturer catalog number 266RL-22AC01F050E 1020 when cross-referencing holder compatibility.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC lathe or turning center setup. Disengage the machine and lock out all power before changing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to achieve proper clamping torque without over-tightening the insert screw. Verify insert seating and clearance geometry before resuming cutting operations.
