The SANDVIK COROMANT 5757933 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert from the CoroThread 266 series, designed for external metric 60-degree thread cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert carries manufacturer grade 1125 with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiCrAlN dual-layer coating for wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. It features a 3/8-inch (9.53 mm) inscribed circle, a thickness of 5/32 inch (3.97 mm), and a 1.00 mm pitch, making it suited to precision threading applications where consistent thread form and tool life are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is configured for right-hand external threading of metric 60-degree threads at a 1.00 mm pitch. It is used in CoroThread 266 series toolholders on CNC turning equipment processing metric-threaded components. Typical applications include threading steel, stainless steel, and similar materials in both prototype and production runs. The chipbreaker designation A and single-tooth-per-side geometry support controlled chip evacuation during threading passes. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 series toolholders accepting insert size code 16. The catalog number for this insert is 266RG-16MM01A100M 1125. No additional specific compatible holder model numbers were provided in the product data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures observed before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key as specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating and torquing the insert clamp screw. Inspect the insert seat and shim for damage or debris before installing the replacement insert. Never exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque, and verify thread direction and pitch match the workpiece specification before initiating a threading cycle.
