The SANDVIK COROMANT 5757702 is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for left hand external 60-degree V-thread cutting applications. Part of the CoroThread 266 series, it carries a dual PVD coating of TiAlN and TiCrAlN for heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding threading operations. The insert covers a thread range of 8 to 16 TPI, equivalent to a metric pitch range of 1.50 to 3.00 mm, making it suitable for a wide range of fastener and component thread profiles. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators on compatible CoroThread 266 toolholders and is suited for production threading on lathes and turning centers.
This insert is used in external threading operations where a left hand thread orientation is required. It fits applications across general machining, aerospace component manufacturing, and precision parts production. The CoroThread 266 series is built for rigid setups on CNC lathes and turning centers where consistent thread form and surface finish are critical. The 60-degree included angle covers the most common unified and metric V-thread standards, and the single-tooth design allows focused cutting force control during the threading pass.
Designed for use with SANDVIK COROMANT CoroThread 266 series toolholders that accept insert size code 16 laydown threading inserts. The catalog reference for this insert is 266LG-16VM01A002M 1125.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedure applied before handling cutting inserts. Seat the insert firmly into the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using a calibrated torque driver. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for chips or debris before installation, as contamination can affect insert seating and thread accuracy. Never attempt to re-grind or modify a coated carbide threading insert.
